Microsoft Surface Pro

For $900, you may wonder why this tablet is so expensive unlike the typical tablets these days. For starters, its not your ordinary tablet, its packing components that make it more like an ultrabook than anything else.

This tablet features a 10.6" display with 1080p resolution and 208 ppi density. The Surface Pro is powered by Dual Core 1.7 GHz Intel-Core i5 processor with 4 GB of RAM which makes it pretty quick whether it is basic tasking or more complex things so no problem. Comes in 64/128 GB of capacity, and includes a pressure-sensitive stylus. The stylus is 1:1 scale with a typical pencil making it very easy to use, one tip is used to draw and other tip to erase just like a pencil. It also has a button that is used to click. The pressure sensitivity is very useful in drawing in the Paint app included, the harder you press the thicker are the strokes and the softer you press the lighter shades you get and its pretty accurate. You can also use the stylus in the browser to give you a preview of some content by hovering it over them, and if you press and hold the click button, it emulates the right-click button which is very useful
The most important thing about the Surface Pro is that you get the full Windows 8 Pro experience, which means that you will get support for most of the softwares that render the Windows 7 on this tab. The Desktop mode makes the Surface a full PC and you can install all the apps of Windows 7 and beyond
The Surface Pro is thicker and heavier than most of the tablets around. The screen looks really vibrant with saturated colors and you can use it in sunlight or view it from different angles no problem.
Still rarity among tablets its really nice to see that the Surface Pro features a very useful kickstand so you have a hands-free experience, but with the kickstand you are only able to use it in portrait and its only fixed at one angle so there's no adjustment to it whatsoever.
If you were going to pick the Surface Pro you may also want to pick the manic touch QWERTY keyboard attachments that they offer which costs for $120 and is basically a fabric like keyboard and is super thin not adding much thickness to the tablet but needs some practice as all the keys are flat. The keyboard also features a trackpad to use it as a mouse with left and right buttons and some quick functions that we really appreciate. Again, it needs some time getting used to it but if you don't prefer this type of keyboard, you may want to look at the Type keyboard that is physical and goes for $130. In case if you don't want to pick any keyboards, you can still use the built in keyboard which has no issues at all and is very responsive and its auto-correct feature won't let you make any mistakes

The music player(Xbox Music) looks really great and easy to access aside from the volume that can be adjusted only with the volume buttons. The speaker looks a bit weak so you will have trouble hearing in noisy environments.
The back and front cameras are both 0.9mp 720p HD making it great for video conferences. In the camera app, you almost have zero options as it is very basic. The only options that you have are setting timer, switching to video mode or vice versa, switching to front camera or vice versa and camera options which lets you change the resolution, you can capture a picture by touching a screen and there is no auto-focus feature. The camera is terrible in taking pictures, it gives very soft details and in low-light conditions, the only thing that you can do is kiss it and tell it good bye. The video is great in high light conditions fixing at 29 fps but in low light conditions it gives 14 fps that is lower than most high-end tablets.
The battery on this device is poorer than most high-end tablets, maintaining only 6 hours of normal usage like surfing the web and sending e-mails so you have to charge it constantly, but don't forget, it is also a PC. Other than that, it features many things that most tablets don't feature like the full size 3.0 USB port and mini display port for video functionality, but the most important thing over here is that it is the desktop operating system that its running.
