Samsung Galaxy S4 Active

With a slightly different look and some new features, is this the Galaxy S4 people wanted in the first place?
When it comes to the design you see some shades of the original S4, but there has been some changes. The touch navigation buttons have been strengthened and got converted into physical buttons.

When it comes to the design you see some shades of the original S4, but there has been some changes. The touch navigation buttons have been strengthened and got converted into physical buttons. The special thing about this phone is that it is waterproof, making it able to be submerged under the depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes. So the micro-SD slot gets covered by a plastic which not only can stand the entry of water, but feels sturdy enough. There are four screws that go through the four rubberized corners and the back cover is a less bendable and thicker plastic.

The screen on the S4 Active phone is 5" with 1080p resolution and 441 ppi, making it not as much saturated as the original S4 is, and it is covered in Gorilla Glass 2 and not 3 (like the S4). You get the same snapdragon Quad Core CPU clocked at 1.9 GHz with 2 GB of RAM, which gives it the same speed and performance of the S4. This phone is powered by a 2600 MAh battery which holds up pretty well for 24 hours. Every sensor for airviews, gestures and controlling televisions makes a return here.

Instead the 13 mp's of the S4, you get 8 mp's here, you get all the camera features which were on the S4 with addition of Aqua Mode which disables touchscreen underwater, the volume buttons will then be your shutter buttons or record buttons, enabling you to take pictures even underwater which is a great thing to have when visiting water parks. Pictures are looking great on the Active with a small decrease of resolution than of the S4.

This phone runs on 4.2.2 Jellybean, for software apps read my review on the original S4
